Flix Movie Selector
NOTE: Some reviewers seem to be confused about what this app does. This app itself isn't intended to play Netflix movies, but rather is a companion app for my Flix app which allows you to do that.
How to Use
Once you have opened the "Flix Movie Selector" app, you will see a screen that looks like the following:
Click the "Browse Movies" button, which will load the Netflix page. Note that the Netflix website seems to load somewhat slowly on the BlackBerry, so if the screen turns white for a few seconds, don't be alarmed.
If you receive a warning about "You need to enable cookies in your web browser", just click the "I've enabled cookies" link. I'm not sure why this message appears for some users, even if cookies are enabled. (My best guess is that it's a glitch with the Netflix site in conjunction with the BlackBerry web browser)
If you haven't already, sign in to the Netflix website by clicking the "Member Sign In" link top right.
You should now be presented with the typical Netflix website.
Once you've located a movie or TV show you want to watch, touch it. If you see a screen appear telling you that playback isn't supported on your device, please wait a moment. A message will be displayed notifying you that the "Flix Movie Selector" app will close. When you click "OK", the app will close. You can then start the Flix app and press "Start Movie" to start playback.
NOTE: Some reviewers seem to be confused about what this app does. This app itself isn't intended to play Netflix movies, but rather is a companion app for my Flix app which allows you to do that. ie. When the Flix Movie Selector app closes, you need to open the Flix app, not the Flix Movie Selector app.
Watching TV Shows / Selecting Episodes
If you simply want to start watching a TV show starting from the first episode, then start the TV show the same way you'd find and start any movie. When the episode ends, it will automatically start the next episode after a few seconds. If you don't want to watch the next episode just then, simply exit the app, and the next time you start Flix and touch "Start Movie" it should take you to the next episode.
On the other hand, if you want to go to a particular episode, then after you have touched "Browse Movies" in the BlackBerry app and are viewing the Netflix site:
- Type the name of the TV program in the search box and press ENTER.
- Touch the title of the TV program in the search results.
- Scroll down to find the episode you want.
- Touch the "Play" icon to the left of the episode.
- Return to the Flix app and touch "Start Movie".
This will play the episode you selected. Once you've finished watching the episode, if you want to continue watching the TV series, then restart the Flix app, touch "Browse Movies", and select the TV series (not episode) as you would any movie you want to watch. Once you've returned to the Flix app and touched "Start Movie", it should start playing the next episode, and when it finishes, it should continue on to the next automatically.
This concludes the instructions. If you got to this page by clicking the "Instructions" link in "Flix Movie Selector", please close this web browser now by swiping up from the bottom bezel of your BlackBerry and clicking the "x".
