Ironman World Championship DVD
May 24, 2008

As we were wandering through the Ottawa Marathon paviolion today, I saw some footage of the Ironman playing on an LCD TV, and I was mesmerized. I'd love to watch the DVD sometime.

Publishing pictures to the web
May 17, 2008

Something that I've always found to be a pain is grabbing screenshots, resizing them, uploading them, and then adding them to blog posts. In fact, I've mentioned it before. More and more I'd like something that at least makes it easier than it is now. Time to put my thinking cap on!

Update: May 19: I bit the bullet, and after five hours, I've got this working. It took a bit longer than I had hoped, but the end result is pretty slick. I can grab a picture, resize it, put a border on it, and add it to a blog post in about 15 seconds.

My Life on the Run
May 8, 2008

As I was looking through this month's Runner's World magazine, reading a bit about  Bart Yasso's adventures, I noticed that he has a new book out entitled My Life on the Run. Sounds like fun!

Recounting his adventures in exotic locales like Antarctica, Africa, and Chitwan National Park in Nepal (where he was chased by an angry rhino), Yasso recommends the best exotic marathons for runners who want to grab their passports to test themselves on foreign terrain. With the wit and wisdom of a seasoned insider, he tells runners what they need to know to navigate the logistics of running in an unfamiliar country.

One of the posts in my marathon log recounts how much fun I've had while running on vacation. Sounds like this is something that lots of other runners have had fun.

Thanks Meredith! 28th birthday.
